The Joy of Low Back Pain

Haydee suffered from severe and disabling low back pain for eight years. She spent so much time standing crooked and lying in bed. She didn't think it would ever end--but it did. See what she learned. Can it help you?

If you're reading this, you probably have low back pain, seen more than one doctor, and still haven't found an answer.

If your condition was simple, any of the treatments would have worked; BUT, sometimes the problem isn't simple. You start to worry that you'll never be pain free again. Will you ever be able to play golf, run, lift weights or just sit without pain again?

Medication, injections and surgery have been recommended, but they have serious side effects and don't fix the problem.

Let's first look at the CAUSES of low back pain:

  • The facets (the parts of the spine that connect to one another) can "jam" into one another. These patients often find their back pain is relieved by bringing their knees to their chest and is worsened by prolonged standing or wearing high heeled shoes. The facets can even become unstable or move abnormally and produce a Synovial Cyst. The cyst is like a blister that can pinch the nerves or spinal cord and cause severe back and leg pain.
  • The discs can herniate into the spinal nerves or spinal canal and causes severe, sharp pain to the back or leg. Bending forward and sitting increases the pain. Most disc protrusions and herniations respond to physical therapy and chiropractic, but some do not. These cases are usually due to poor blood supply to the disc, a prior significant trauma or a congenital spinal asymmetry. This requires special and focused care that we teach to doctors throughout the country. We call this condition a Failed Disc Syndrome.
  • About 5-10% of us have uneven leg lengths causing the spine to wear unevenly. It is nearly always misdiagnosed and leads to chronic pain and "instability".
  • Misalignment of the sacroiliac or lumbar vertebrae is a common cause of low back pain that is usually mistreated by the medical community.

Common sources of low back pain include the disc, the spinal nerve and the facets. Of course these aren't the only causes of back pain, just the more common ones we see in our clinic.

Our center specializes in getting to the bottom of the difficult cases (even those with unsuccessful surgery).

We treat the problem, not just the symptoms! Most patients see significant improvement within two weeks.

his MRI shows a side view of the lower back. Notice how the disc "bulges" into the spinal canal. The lower disc is narrowed due to degeneration (arthritis). We safely stop the pain from these conditions everyday without surgery or medication. Click on the image to learn how we treat thousands of disc herniations successfully and safely without surgery.

Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression May Be A Necessary Part of Your Treatment To Finally Get Well.

Luckily we live in an age when most serious disc and spinal stenosis injuries can be treated more successfully and safely WITHOUT surgery.
